At home in two markets
If you can already enjoy a delicious piece of meat or a crispy fried fish fillet, then there is a good chance that you have already come into contact with Cretel indirectly.

In both the meat and fish industry, Cretel is a very well-known name. With years of experience, they build machines for processing the meat and fish that end up on your plate every day. These are usually operations such as skinning, membrane removal and derinding.
They also take care of the hygienic aspect for countless companies active in the logistics and food sectors. The fruit bins for your apples, the pallets on which your purchases are delivered. There is a chance that these will be in optimal hygienic condition thanks to an intervention by Cretel.
They implement their range of washing and drying systems in their customer's processes. These tasks often require the necessary customisation and Cretel is happy to be flexible here.
A trusted network
As you can see, there have undoubtedly been a number of contact moments between you and Cretel. Yet it is possible that the name Cretel does not ring a bell with you. This is largely because Cretel prefers to work with a dealer network. Because of this, they have very little direct contact with the end consumer.
Through this dealer network, Cretel does manage to be a global player. Their machines are used by fishmongers in Vietnam to logistics companies in the United States.
Focused on quality and reliability
Cretel likes to identify itself as a reliable and quality partner:
"Our focus is the quality and reliability of our applications, service and deliveries. In addition, we attach great importance to the hygienic added value that our solutions offer, both the processing, washing and drying systems." - Guy Persyn, CEO Cretel
Ergonomic challenges
Like any company, Cretel also had to face some challenges to grow into who they are today. As a manufacturer of machines, the company is constantly coming into contact with heavy parts, plates and the like.
"We also want to excel as an employer. We are well aware of how important our employees are. That is why we attach great importance to ergonomics" - Guy Persyn, CEO Cretel
In order to assist the employees in their daily tasks, Cretel started looking for solutions. Fortunately, they did not have to look very far.
"Once we knew more or less what we needed, it was only a small step to go with Logitrans. I had already worked with Logitrans in another investment project for ATS Group and that cooperation went perfectly." - Guy Persyn, CEO Cretel
Over a period of just under two years, three lightweight overhead cranes were purchased and installed, two of which were special versions. First and foremost, Cretel needed a lifting system to place parts on their machine tools. The big challenge here was to use one solution to relieve the burden on the entire machine park.
Logitrans took an ambitious approach and realised its longest lightweight overhead crane. The rail system spanned the entire machine park with a length of 50m. Two crossbars, each with a chain hoist, were mounted in it.

In order to keep the machine park free, it was decided to attach the entire overhead crane to the ceiling. This allowed Cretel to lift components up to 500kg in the entire machine park with one solution.
The next challenge for Cretel was around their laser cutting machine. Cretel uses this machine to process metal sheets into parts. Logitrans again put its heads together with Cretel to find a suitable solution.
A unique lightweight overhead crane was chosen. The solution was developed to take up as little space as possible. To meet this requirement, one side was fixed to stakes on the ground, while the other side was fixed to the roof.

A chain hoist with a specially designed tool was again installed here so that one employee can easily place a 150 kg plate on the laser cutting machine.
Finally, a third installation was installed. Here there was a need for a lifting system to process parts on workbenches. Logitrans developed a compact lightweight overhead crane that is fully mounted on the ground with columns. This installation spans all these workbenches and again a chain hoist was chosen to manipulate components up to 500 kg.

"Ultimately, better ergonomics for our employees was a priority. By working together with Logitrans we were offered a solution that fully met our expectations. In addition to ergonomics, these solutions also contribute greatly to safety on our shop floor." - Guy Persyn, CEO Cretel
The future vision
Finally, Cretel has a bright future. Ergonomics remains an important pillar. In addition, they are working steadily to expand their dealer network and increase their market share.
