Who is RIDGID?
Ridgid is the inventor of the modern pipe wrench, a tool used to hold pipes in a rotary motion, such as turning them in and out. Since then, their mission has been to manufacture products for the most skilled craftsmen. RIDGID's tools are known as quality tools that allow these professionals to do their jobs faster and more reliably.

Although RIDGID focuses its products on the professional, it sells its products through an extensive distribution network. The branch office in Sint-Truiden is responsible for the distribution of the tools in the Benelux.
At the beginning of 2021, Logitrans was asked by the shipping department of RIDGID to offer a solution to their problem of lifting 50 kg boxes.
"The fact is that in this department, one person takes on the task of packing the orders and getting them ready for shipment." says Rudi Vervoort, a warehouse supervisor at RIDGID for more than 20 years.
It was not long before Rudi found himself at Logitrans Handling. "On the recommendation of a nearby company, which had already built up a long-standing partnership with Logitrans, we took a look at what they had to say. This made us curious about a possible implementation in our company. The moment we launched our application at Logitrans, everything accelerated".
"On the last day of shipping we often had to provide 2 extra people to get everything done. Now one operator alone does this with telling ease. The whole process also runs much faster than before" - Rudi Vervoort, Warehouse Supervisor
Site visit, quotation and test
After an on-site presentation, a quote followed, after the quote, the customer was invited for a demonstration and test.
"Crucial to this was that our operator, Boogie, was closely involved in the decision-making process. In the end, it is the person who performs the operation on a daily basis who can make the best judgment." says Rudi.
Boogie's gratitude can be read from his face. "We opted for the multifunctional vacuum lifting system with long arm and rotor, which actually allows you to go in all directions with your product. This makes it not only ergonomic, but also very productive. At certain peak times I sometimes have to fill 20 crates with 50 kilogram boxes at very short notice. A time-consuming and very stressful job, which can be done with the vacuum lifter " Dixit Boogie, a satisfied operator.
Rudi can only confirm that the solution offered was also a hit in terms of productivity. "On the last day of shipping we often had to provide 2 extra people to get everything done. Now one operator alone does this with telling ease. The whole process also runs much faster than before. The operators who prepare the crates even have to stretch to follow Boogie."
